Even though Dietz & Watson introduced their Bacon Lovers Turkey Breast back in 2003, I hadn't noticed it in local supermarket delis until just recently. The name, of course, caught my eye right away, so I got a quarter-pound of it to try.I had no idea what to expect. Turns out that it's a high-quality-but-otherwise-pretty-standard lean turkey breast with a lot more smoke flavor than the usual bland deli lunchmeat turkey breast.
What is it with everything that's been smoked or smoke-flavored getting marketed as "Bacon Lover's"? This stuff doesn't have anything to do with bacon. But I gotta hand it to D&W: it just tastes like you'd expect real smoked turkey to taste: like you did it yourself in the smoker for Thanksgiving. And it does make a nice change of pace from the usual deli fare.

I like dietz and watson's cold cuts. I am not too big of a cold cut guy, but I really like their London Broil sliced paper thin. It is a touch on the salty side, but really very good.
Dave, it's actually cooked with real strips of bacon over it and is infused with real bacon as well.
Dear dave, bacon lovers turkey is a beautiful creation that god put on this earth for all to enjoy. If you had taken the time to look at the breast, there are real bits of bacon throughout. Furthermore, the second comment was a valuable addition to your comments. There are real pieces of bacon on top of the breast.

It's completely covered in bacon -- that's the crust of the turkey -- a 1 piece think blanket of bacon on the entire surface.
