Pushing the seasons a little...

Here's the Seasonal Goods aisle at my local Stop & Shop. This is why it's impossible to throw a surprise birthday party for Jesus: The stores insist on putting the decorations and party favors out three months in advance. Tips Him off every time.

    I think the way the industry handles Christmas is absolutely ridiculess.
    when I was a kid you did not see anything Christmas in the stores until Thanksgiving when the Christmas shopping season began. The stores did not even put stuff out until the night before Thanksgiving.

    We had Christmas by July. September shows great restraint!
